California  Within 20 days from first day of a job.    Contractors within 90 days of last day on a job, or within 60 days of recording of a Notice of Completion.

Subcontractors within 90 days of last day on a job, or within 30 days of recording of a Notice of Completion.  
Colorado    At least 10 days before filing lien.  Within 4 months of last day of work.  
Connecticut      Within 90 days of last day of work.  
Delaware      Contractors who have a contract with the owner and who provides both Labor & Materials must file within 180 days of last day on job.

All others must file within 120 days of last day on job.  
District of Columbia    Anytime during construction, but within 90 days of completion of the project.    
Florida  Within 45 days from first day of work    Within 90 days from last day of work.  
Georgia  Contractors must file a Notice of Commencement within 15 days of starting work.

Subcontractors must file notice within 30 days from Notice of Commencement or first day of work.  
 Within 3 months after last day of work.  
Hawaii      Within 45 Days of filing of Notice of Completion.

Within 1 year if no Notice of Completion was filed.  
Idaho      Within 90 days of last day of work.  
Illinois  On residential projects, within 60 days from first day of work or delivery.    Contractors, within 4 months after last performance.

Subcontractors and Material Suppliers within 3 months of last day of work.  
Indiana      Within 90 days from last day of work.  
Iowa  Subs must serve notice upon the contractor within 30 days from first furnishing    Within 90 days from last day of work.

Nebraska      Within 120 days from last day of work.  
Nevada  Within 31 days from first day of work.    Within 40 days from last day of work if Notice of Completion is filed.

Within 90 Days of last day of completion if Notice of Completion was filed.  
New Hampshire   Before first day of work.    With notice valid for 120 days  
New Jersey  Commercial NUB optional

Residential- NUB is required.  
 Within 90 days from last day of work.

Within 10 days of arbitrator's decision.  
New Mexico  Residential Within 20 days from first day of work.

Commercial Within 60 days from first day.  
 Contractor within 120 days from last day of work.

All others within 90 days after last day of work.  
New York      Residential within 4 months from last day of work.

Commercial within 8 months of last day of work.  
North Carolina      Within 120 days from last day of work.  
North Dakota    At least 15 days before lien is filed.  Within 90 days from last day of work.  
Ohio  Within 21 days from first day of work.    Residential within 60 days from last day of work.

Commercial within 75 days from last day of work.  
Oklahoma  Commercial within 75 days of first day on the job for.

Prior to first day of a job on residential  
 Contractors within 4 months of last day of work.

Subcontractors and Material Suppliers within 90 days from last day of work.  
Oregon  If providing Materials only, must give notice within 8 business days of the day of the delivery.    Within 75 days after last day of work.  
Pennsylvania  Before completion.  At least 30 days before lien filing  Within 4 months after last day of work.  
Rhode Island    Within 120 days of first day of work.  Within 120 days of last day on job.  
South Carolina  Subcontractors and Suppliers as soon as possible.    Within 90 days of last day of work.  
South Dakota  *Call for additional Information*    Within 120 days of last day of work.  
Tennessee  Original Contractor prior to work, can be a misdemeanor if not given but does not affect lien rights.    Within 90 days of last day of work.

If Owner files a Notice of Completion, lien must be filed within 30 days on commercial jobs and within 10 days on residential jobs.  
Texas  *Call for additional Information*    No later than 15th day of 4th month after last day of work.  
Utah  Within 20 days from first day of job or from issuance of Notice of Commencement, whichever is later.

If Notice of Completion is filed, must file within 10 days from date the Notice of Completion is filed.  
 Within 90 days of last day of final completion or original contract.  
Vermont      Within 180 days from last day of work.  
Virginia  Within 30 days of first day on job for residential jobs.    Within 90 days from last day of work.  
Washington  Within 10 Days of first day of work for single-family residence.

Within 60 days from first day of work for commercial or multi-family projects.  
 Within 90 days from last day of work.  
West Virginia    Within 75 days of completion  Within 100 days of completion.  
Wisconsin  Contractor within 10 days from start of job if no contract exists.

All others within 60 days from first day of work.  
At least 30 days before filing the lien.  Within 6 months from last day of work.  
Wyoming  Within 30 days from first day of work.  10 days before filing lien.  Contractors within 120 days of last day of work.

Subs and Material Suppliers within 90 days of last day of work.
